Arillas, the headquarters of Corfu Beer Microbrewery, is found in the northwest coast of Corfu and is a very unusual village. Fifty years ago this was a very small built-up area with only a few houses, now it has developed into a tourist resort with hotels, apartments and rooms to rent, restaurants, bars, shops and one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the island. However, Arillas has preserved the character of a village where visitors do not feel as tourists but as guests.
The village has a very energetic civil association that organizes 3 celebrations every year, dance lessons, gymnastics lessons and yoga, village cleaning and coastal cleaning, as well as some other civil and environmental actions. There is also a businessmens’ association where discussions and some actions take place in order to improve the village.
Visitors to Arillas are to a great degree people that come back year after year and this must mean that something good is being done! More and more activities are being developed in the village for “alternative” tourism such as walking, bicycling, brainwork etc. You can find more information for Arillas village and alternative tourist activities at the websites Green Corfu
